There are hunters, and there are gatherers.

I’ve never been a great shopper for anything other than books. Set me loose in a bookstore and I’m set for days. More if there’s a café. But clothes shopping? Gah. Sure, I’ll stumble across different things here and there, but I’ve never been great at long term shopping. The thought of wedding dress shopping sent terrifying shivers through me. What better way to survive it than to bring along a posse of bridesmaids and relatives?

The best group a bride could ask for!

From the left, Allen’s mother Pat, Allen’s sister (and Bridesmaid) Liz, Sheridan, The Best Junior Bridesmaid of All Time JJ, Bridesmaid Aixa, Bridesmaid Chrissy, Sheridan’s sister (and Maid of Honor) Casey, Giselle’s daughter Chelsea, Sheridan’s cousin (and Bridesmaid) Gina, and Sheridan’s cousin Giselle.

The girls were nice enough to break the ice and try on dresses for themselves first. Everyone’s going to look stunning… just wait until you see them! From there we went to a different bridal shop (a bit more low key and with fewer fluorescent lights) and I tried on dresses, but you won’t find any spoilers here. It took a few trips, but I ended up finding just what I wanted. A white one.

Here we see Sheridan’s Mom Cynthia, Sheridan’s Aunt Bonnie, and Sheridan’s Cousin Gina picking out dresses for Gina to try on.

Here we see the Mother/Daughter pair of Bridesmaid/Jr. Bridesmaid. That’s Aixa on the left and JJ on the right (and that’s Liz, Allen’s sister in the background). Sheridan and Aixa met on the first day of classes freshmen year at Bowdoin and have been friends ever since. More of that story to come!
